Black Dragon Low Profile Mini Cable V1
The Black Dragon IEM V1 Low Profile Mini Cable is designed with flexibility and a smaller footprint in mind. Use this cable to connect your portable devices, such as a computer or phone, to a portable amp or your phone to a jack aux in your car's center console. The cable utilizes two low-profile gold-plated high-quality right-angle 1/8" stereo mini plugs to provide a more compact attachment between gear, and it easily fits through most iDevice protective cases. Copper conductors in the Black Dragon lend bottom-end weight, a warm and musical midrange, and a smooth top end. The Black Dragon is appropriate for most genres, but works especially well with Electronica, Dance, Pop, Rap, R&B, and other music where a big, bold presentation is desired.
For setups that do not require a more flexible cable, we recommend theĀ Blue Dragon Portable Mini Cable V3Ā or theĀ Black Dragon V2 Portable Mini Cable.Ā These cables are more robust and are for connecting the highest-end portable gear as well as connecting portable gear to home audio systems.

The Black Dragon is warm and smooth with a musical presentation. Copper strands enhance the body, shape, and immediacy of the music. The detail and expansiveness of the Black Dragon make it a flexible fit where a broad range of musical genres are played. It can also improve bass frequencies on bass-light headphones.
The smooth, musical quality makes it a perfect fit for headphones that tend to sound a bit edgy or bright. Despite its warmth, the Black Dragon does not have a laid-back, lush sound. It is much closer to neutral, making it a very natural-sounding cable.

The Black Dragon Low Profile Mini Cable features a coaxial design utilizing 99.9999% UP-OCC stranded silver 26AWG center conductor for the positive leg. The center conductor is wrapped concentrically by a 99.99998% UP-OCC pure copper stranded 26 AWG gauge conductor with 7N purity 99.99998%, and it uses the same Kevlar reinforcing as our other Dragon cables.
The Black Dragon Low Profile Mini Cable features a coaxial design utilizing 99.9999% UP-OCC stranded silver 26AWG center conductor for the positive leg. The center conductor is wrapped concentrically by a 99.99998% UP-OCC pure copper stranded 26 AWG gauge conductor with 7N purity 99.99998%, and it uses the same Kevlar reinforcing as our other Dragon cables. The left and right signal cables run parallel to each other, resulting in a very low inductance. Both signal jackets are polyethylene, and the cable is extremely flexible yet very resilient and resistant to flex failure.
This cable can be used with a variety of different connectors, both balanced and unbalanced, such as a 3.5mm TRS Mini plug, 2.5mm TRRS Balanced Plug, or 4.4mm TRRRS Balanced Plug. As always, we custom-build this cable in-house using high-quality Cardas silver solder.
What is UP-OCC?
UP-OCC stands for Ultra Pure Ohno Continuous Casting (OCC). This is not a material but a way of extruding silver and copper to prevent any impurities and fractures in the crystalline structure of the wire. The wire is drawn very slowly to cast as an almost perfect single-crystal small-diameter conductor. The resulting purity and the size of the cast wire make a tremendous difference, and there is less damage to the near-perfect cast state. We find that this UP-OCC process produces a very clean and close to neutral sound in our copper-based and silver-based cables.
