This cable is designed exclusively for JH Audio dual-input IEMs for use with the JH Audio JH-3A amp. The Black Dragon is great for adding bottom-end weight to your IEMs for a fuller-bodied sound. Copper conductors will warm the bass and midrange tones and smooth out the upper frequencies without sacrificing detail. You get a more musical sound with expanded soundstage depth. The Black Dragon is appropriate for most genres, but works especially well with Electronica, Dance, Pop, Rap, R&B, and other music where a big, bold presentation is desired. Get ready to be AMAZED! Black Dragon Cable Design
Like the Black Dragon IEM cable, the Black Dragon JH-3A IEM version is a coaxial design using a 99.99998% UP-OCC Stranded Copper 26AWG center conductor for the positive leg. With this custom setup, there are 4 cables instead of 2. The JH-3A breaks the signal path into a separate 3-way crossover pattern. Each frequency range has its own internal amplifier in the JH3A; therefore, 6 channels of conductors are required for this cable. The center conductor uses the same Kevlar reinforcing as our other Dragon cables. The center conductor is wrapped concentrically by a 99.99998% UP-OCC copper-plated single-crystallized UP-OCC pure copper stranded 26AWG gauge conductor with 7N purity 99.99998%.
The 3 left and 3 right signal cables run parallel to each other, resulting in a very low inductance. Both signal jackets are polyethylene, and the cable is extremely flexible yet very resilient and resistant to flex failure. This cable only comes in a 48-inch length and with the stock 8-pin Mini XLR required for the JH-3A amplifier.
What is UP-OCC?
UP-OCC stands for Ultra Pure Ohno Continuous Casting (OCC). This is not a material but a way of extruding silver and copper to prevent any impurities and fractures in the crystalline structure of the wire. The wire is drawn very slowly to cast as an almost perfect single-crystal small-diameter conductor. The resulting purity and the size of the cast wire make a tremendous difference, and there is less damage to the near-perfect cast state. We find that this UP-OCC process produces a very clean and close to neutral sound in our copper-based and silver-based cables.
Connecting Your Dragon IEM Cable
- Red: Right Channel
- Blue: Left Channel
- Dots should always point up
- The white connector goes above the black connector
With the red dot facing upward, slide the connector straight into the right IEM until flush with the shell. Repeat with the blue dot and the left IEM.
